Working with Erica Tedesco + Alex Cyr, I restructured a current archival site for historical documents and images at Michigan State University. The process included doing a landscape analysis on the current site (onthebanks.msu.edu), developing a specific user-scenario, making wireframes as a group on our findings, and then ultimately, splitting up to develop our own unique visual comps.

As a whole, we aimed to make the site easily accessible for those looking for very specific information or photos, and also those just wanting to browse. We changed the focus from heavy text to engaging visuals and used a Pinterest-style layout as our inspiration. We also worked to simplify sorting categories for the user and narrowed down sorting by: year, images, documents, and "stories" (a compilation of multiple media based around one subject).
